My name is Jessica and I’m pleased to meet you. I hope you’ll stick around. You can find out more about me here.
Welcome to my blog, the hub of my content and where I share all the things I learn about simple, seasonal and sustainable living.

Like a lot of people, I came to the realisation recently that I am just not paying enough attention to the mark I am making on this world we live in. Maybe it’s ignorance or just the fact that I am one tiny person in this seemingly infinite sea of people. Either way, it was definitely a case of thinking what can I possible do that would make a difference?
Something switched in me one day when I was out walking in one of my local parks. It was a beautiful summers morning and there were people out and about like me. Near to one of the skate park ramps, scattered along the grass were discarded bottles, crisp packets and cans; evidence that people, possible children, had left their rubbish where they sat to eat and gone home.
This is a park with rubbish bins everywhere. In fact, you can’t leave the park without passing one and I had to shake my head in disgust at the sheer laziness of people in general. It got me thinking about other times I had seen this: the old man who left his coffee cup on a bench in town, the group of young people who had left fast food wrappings by the steps of the town hall. If even one of the people in these cases had thought, “Lets just pop these in the bin on our way home” or, “I’ll take these home with me”, the ground would be rubbish-free.
It’s a small thing but we can make a difference to our environment and it was this thought that made me turn to look at my own lifestyle. What I threw away, what I bought, what I wasted. What I can change to stop it. This blog was born from that thought. It’s a place where I can write about the things I find out and share with other like-minded souls how to be more sustainable. It’s also where I journal my thoughts on intentional living, simplicity and other things that catch my attention.
I hope you enjoy!
